3 more Penn State players reportedly hit NCAA transfer portal; Lions offer 2020 QB recruit, and more

Today’s Penn State football news headlines feature three more players set to hit the NCAA’s transfer portal and a new offer to a 2020 quarterback from Florida.

Safety Ayron Monroe announced on Twitter Tuesday afternoon his intentions to transfer. Meanwhile, Tyler Donohue from Lions247 is reporting that tight end Danny Dalton and offensive lineman Alex Gellerstedt are set to join him, making it seven Nittany Lions looking to explore their transfer options.

On the recruiting front, Penn State made a notable offer to Jeff Sims, a 6-3, 180-pound quarterback from Sandalwood (Fla.) High School. The 2020 prospect goes right to the top of the Lions’ recruiting board at the position, writes PennLive’s Greg Pickel.

In other Penn State football news, Saquon Barkley is named the NFL’s offensive rookie of the year. Former PSU commit Brandon Wimbush lands at UCF, and former Lion Derek Moye gets a coaching gig.
