- Most online sports betting sites have already released 2020 CFP National Championship odds.
- Bovada and BetOnline have very different takes on Penn State and Oklahoma.
- Find out where to get the best odds on the Nittany Lions and Sooners.
The 2019 College Football National Championship was unforgettable for the Clemson Tigers, their fans, and anyone who was willing to bet on the underdog.
Those of you brave enough to make the pick probably shared a lot of the same emotions as Tigers star Christian Wilkins.

As fresh as the Tigers title may be, it’s officially in the rearview mirror, meaning it’s time to start looking into futures for 2020.
One thing is clear, both Bovada and BetOnline believe a meeting between Clemson and Alabama for a fifth time in the College Football Playoff is likely.
Clemson is considered the favorite on both sites, with the Crimson Tide second in College Football Playoff National Championship odds. Georgia and Ohio State sit third and fourth, but that’s about where the similarities end.
Without rankings to follow as a guide, there are some major differences between the two sites.

Will Penn State be a Contender?
The top six is rounded out by two more teams from the Big Ten, Penn State and Michigan. While the Wolverines’ odds are similar on both sites, the Nittany Lions have a wild discrepancy.
They are sitting at +1200 at Bovada, while you could get +8000 by placing the same wager on BetOnline.
QB Trace McSorley is gone from campus and they are still looking to replace Saquon Barkley, who left for the NFL last year.
It’s unlikely Penn State will climb over Ohio State to win the Big Ten and then capture two victories in the College Football Playoff, but if you’re looking to bet on James Franklin finding the right magic, do it for the Cinderella odds of +8000!
Will Oklahoma Contend with(out) Kyler Murray?
BetOnline may not have the same love for Penn State, but they have Oklahoma way up their board compared to Bovada. The Sooners are only getting +1600 at BetOnline, whereas the same wager pays +3000 at Bovada.
Heisman-winning QB Kyler Murray hasn’t left Oklahoma just yet. He could enter the NFL draft or join the Oakland A’s organization, but the fact he isn’t out the door yet is leading some to speculate on a possible return.
Two things I wouldn’t be shocked if they happened in 2019:
1. Kliff Kingsbury was an NFL HC
2. Kyler Murray returned to OU

The first prediction there has already come true, could the second as well? That’s likely the reason for the difference between the two sites; if you’re a believer in Murray’s return to OU, bet them at +3000 sooner rather than later.
One other bet I like, or even love, is the Ohio State Buckeyes at +1200 (on either site). Quarterback Justin Fields just transferred from Georgia and is likely to receive an exemption that would make him available to play right away. He’s the 2nd-highest ranked QB recruit since 2000 and is likely to have the Buckeyes primed to contend under first-year head coach and QB whisperer Ryan Day.
If you’re wondering who the top QB recruit of the last 19 years was, it was Trevor Lawrence. Yes, Clemson’s National Championship-winning QB Trevor Lawrence.
Check out the full list of teams on both sites and sprinkle some action; the best time to bet futures is always right after the last championship.
