Charlie Fessler, a Northwestern wide receiver, named Academic All-Big Ten a year after his brother
There’s another all-Big Ten honoree in the Fessler family.
Charlie Fessler has joined his older brother, Billy Fessler, as an Academic All-Big Ten selection.
Charlie Fessler was one of 59 members of the Northwestern football team to claim Academic All-Big Ten status this week.
He is a 6-foot 3-inch, 217-pound redshirt junior wide receiver who has played in all 13 games for the Wildcats (8-5). He had a career-high three receptions for 33 yards in the Big Ten championship game, which Ohio State won 45-24.
That brought his season totals to 10 receptions for 101 yards.
Northwestern will face Utah in the Holiday Bowl on Dec. 31 in San Diego.
Billy Fessler was an Academic All-Big Ten honoree for the 2017 season, his final year with Penn State. He was a backup quarterback who served as the Nittany Lions’ main holder on extra points and field goals.
Their younger brother, Henry Fessler, is a true freshman wide receiver with Penn State.
All three brothers are Cathedral Prep graduates.
