No. 21 Penn State may be coming off a rare blowout loss, but the Nittany Lions will be back on a major network this week. ABC is carrying Saturday’s game between Penn State and Wisconsin at Beaver Stadium, with the telecast slated to start at noon Eastern.
James Franklin’s Nittany Lions enter the contest at 6-3 overall and 3-3 in the Big Ten. Paul Chryst’s Badgers are 6-3 and 4-2. This will mark the first time the two teams have played on ABC since 2007, when PSU crunched Bucky 38-7 at Beaver Stadium.

This marks Penn State’s fourth appearance on ABC this season. The Nittany Lions beat Pitt in Pittsburgh (51-6) Sept. 8, lost to Ohio State in Beaver Stadium (27-26) Sept. 29 and beat Indiana in Bloomington (33-28) Oct. 20. This is the team’s first game on ABC this season with this particular announcing crew, though.
PSU has played on ABC more than any other network through the years, with a 103-73-1 record on the network.
Penn State has had 192 consecutive games televised nationally, with 312 of the last 314 contests being on TV. The Nittany Lions are tied with Michigan for the most games televised since 1995 with 277 each.
Penn State and Wisconsin have played 18 times dating back to 1953, with the series split 9-9. But this will mark only the second time the two teams have met since James Franklin took over the Nittany Lion in 2014, with PSU beating the Badgers 38-31 in the 2016 Big Ten championship game.
