Today’s Penn State football news features a mix of recruiting fodder and a look back at the 2018 regular season as the Nittany Lions await their bowl fate on Sunday. has a nice feature on four-star Princeton, N.J., guard Caedan Wallace, who is a long time Nittany Lions Class of 2019 commit. The lineman had his in-home visit with head coach James Franklin on Wednesday night, and Wallace will next hit the field at January’s All-American Bowl in Orlando, Fla., before playing in the Polynesian Bowl in Hawaii a couple of weeks later.

“It feels like home to me [at Penn State],” Wallace said. “Every time I step on campus I always get like a loving family type atmosphere from the coaches and the people on campus, and it’s just a really loving environment.

“The coaches and most of the players are like family to me now, it just feels like home.”

Wallace is expected to sign with the school on Dec. 19, which is the first day of the early signing period, before enrolling next summer.

In other news, rewound the tape to pick out the 10 best plays of the 2018 season, stating with Amani Oruwariye’s overtime interception in the end zone to secure a Lions victory over Appalachian State way back in September.

“To be sure Penn State’s season hasn’t been short on heartbreaking moments or things not going the Nittany Lions’ way, but there are at least two interceptions in the end zone on this list that are the difference between nine wins and seven,” author Ben Jones writes.

“Nobody expected this game to be so close, but as both teams have played out their seasons, maybe it’s not such a shock that App State gave Penn State everything it could handle.”
