It’s awards time in the college football world. While the focus this week has been on all of the national honors that have been bestowed on players across the country, we thought it was also a good moment for us to take a look at the top players at Penn State.
In this piece, Lions 247 With Fight On State staffers Sean Fitz, Tyler Donohue and I provide our takes on a variety of postseason honors for the Nittany Lions. They cover the three key areas of the team — offense, defense and special teams — and we highlight MVPs, unsung heroes, top rookies and surprise performers.
If you have opinions on any of our takes, please let us know in the comments section. We will also be running polls where you can vote for the MVPs of the offense, defense and special teams.
Penn State finished the 2018 regular season at 9-3 overall and 6-2 in the Big Ten. The No. 12 Nittany Lions will face No. 14 Kentucky in the Citrus Bowl in Orlando Jan. 1, with the game kicking off at 1 p.m. and being televised by ABC.
