Penn State Nittany Lions

Penn State-Kentucky Citrus Bowl preview

No. 12 Penn State closed the 2017 regular season at 9-3 overall and 6-3 in the Big Ten, and was hoping to land a spot in a third straight New Year’s Six bowl. Of course, that did not happen, as James Franklin’s Nittany Lions finished just outside of the NY6 pool. But PSU still drew a good postseason matchup, as it will face No. 14 Kentucky in the Citrus Bowl in Orlando Jan. 1.

Welcome to the podcast version of “The Nitwits” TV show, featuring Penn State beat veterans Mark Brennan of Lions 247 With Fight On State (me) and Neil Rudel of the Altoona Mirror. We are now in our 21st year of leading a weekly roundtable discussion of the Nittany Lions during the college football season. For folks who would like to listen to the show on the run, we offer it here in podcast format.

For this show, the crew is joined by former Penn State receiver and frequent guest Nitwit Joe Nastasi. We take a look at the Wildcats, focus in on some key matchups in the game, hand out a bunch of postseason awards and — of course — give our Citrus Bowl score predictions.

Be sure to check out FOS/247 in the week after the bowl for our postseason edition of The Nitwits Podcast.

This podcast is also available on iTunes. We are just keeping the old FightOnState.com channel going so people know where to find past episodes of our podcasts.
