Keep track of everything related to Kentucky vs. Penn State in the Citrus Bowl.

The Kentucky Wildcats will face the Penn State Nittany Lions in the 2019 Citrus Bowl.

The game will kick off at 1 p.m. on January 1st at Camping World Stadium in Orlando and will air on ABC. The Citrus Bowl is among the longest-running and tradition-rich bowls, with this year’s edition featuring the 30th ranked matchup in the last 31 years.

Kentucky and Penn State enter the game ranked in the top 15 of the final College Football Playoff rankings, as they both narrowly missed out on a New Year’s Six bowl.

Both teams have identical 9-3 records, but their season’s have been vastly different in terms of expectations vs. actual results.

Penn State began the year with College Football Playoff aspirations, but it was clear from the start that they would struggle to reach those dreams. They started the year narrowly escaping Appalachian State in overtime, then went on to lose to Michigan State, Ohio State and Michigan, the latter being a 42-7 destruction.

Kentucky, on the other hand, came into this season with low expectations with many so-called experts picking them to win five or six games.

Kentucky would go on to vastly surpass everyone’s expectations by upsetting Florida, Mississippi State and Missouri, three teams that finished in the final CFP Top 25.

Penn State brings a high-powered offense in a matchup against Kentucky’s stout defense in what should be a great game.
