Penn State Women’s Volleyball To Wear Pink Uniforms

Penn State women’s volleyball will wear pink jerseys for the first time Friday night when it hosts Indiana at Rec Hall.

The Nittany Lions had previously worn pink socks and accessories to celebrate their “Dig Pink” match, an annual partnership between the program and the Side-Out Foundation.

Fans attending Friday’s contest, which gets underway at 7:30 p.m., are encouraged to wear pink as a show of support for breast cancer survivors and increased research.

The game-worn uniforms will be available for purchase at a silent auction during the match. Select youth-sized uniforms will also be auctioned off, with all proceeds going toward the team’s fundraising goal of $5,000.

Penn State, which remained No. 4 in this week’s AVCA poll, has won its last eight matches in Big Ten play. The Nittany Lions are among thousands of youth, high school, and collegiate teams around the nation who are promoting breast health education through the initiative.

If you are unable to attend Friday’s match and would like to donate to the cause, the secure link to do so can be found here.
