KISSIMMEE, Fla. — Penn State held its final practice of the 2018 season at Celebration High here Sunday. The No. 12 Nittany Lions, who take on No. 14 Kentucky in Orlando Tuesday, only have Monday’s walkthrough remaining before the big game.
Under James Franklin, Penn State has an interesting tradition for the final practice of any season. Players on the different sides of the ball swap jerseys (and, hence, numbers) with one another. So standout freshman linebacker Micah Parsons was wearing the white No. 87 practice jersey of standout freshman tight end Pat Freiermuth. And Freiermuth was wearing Parsons’ now familiar blue No. 11 practice jersey.
Below, you can check out images of the two rookies, quarterbacks Trace McSorley and Sean Clifford, running back Miles Sanders, receiver KJ Hamler, defensive end Yetur Gross-Matos and many more of your favorite Nittany Lions wearing different jerseys than usual.
We present this slideshow from Penn State’s first bowl practice in Florida as free content so all Nittany Lion fans can enjoy it. Feel free to share with your Penn State friends. And please stick around the site all week for continued coverage of the Nittany Lions as they prepare to take on the Wildcats on New Year’s Day.
